Project Objective
DRVN AE worked exclusively with Volta Trucks to revolutionise the future of sustainable transport by providing innovative design engineering and CAE solutions that prioritise safety and environmental responsibility for a cleaner and greener future.
The goal was to ensure that the Volta Trucks could operate in narrow city streets and provide the load-carrying possibility that is typically undertaken by multiple 3.5-tonne vehicles.
DRVN AE focused on developing an innovative solution that would optimise its load-carrying capacity providing a payload of 8,600kg (19,000 Ibs), with an overall volume of 37.7m3.
Through detailed and solutions focused design engineering and our in-house CAE capability we were able to analyse, propose, validate, and test both structural loading, materials stiffness requirements to significantly improve the overall weight loading whilst maintaining optimum safety.
DRVN AE focussed on sustainable materials in the construction of body panels to ensure a reduction in weight and increases stiffness over conventional materials, as well as using 75% less CO2 to produce.
