The Approach
The project necessitated comprehensive modifications to the vehicle’s body, in addition to upgraded comfort and technology features. DAE’s team of expert electrical engineers undertook a thorough overhaul of the software, developing and re-coding the original setup to implement a new system design. Additionally, significant upgrades were made to the electronic hardware to complement the new software.
Utilising cutting-edge technology, DAE redesigned and upgraded the taxi’s interior, ensuring a seamless blend of comfort and sophistication. To finalise the project, DAE established a bespoke vehicle production facility at their Coventry site, equipped to deploy all upgrades and improvements efficiently.
The culmination of DRVN’s innovative engineering solutions resulted in an exceptional 25-foot turning circle—a critical feature to allow taxis to manoeuvre effectively in Central London.
Project Objective
DRVN Advanced Engineering, in collaboration with Mercedes Benz, undertake a strategic partnership to enhance the functionality and appeal of the Mercedes Benz Vito Taxi. Given the anticipation of increased demand, DAE elevated the vehicle's performance and features to meet evolving market expectations.
